MOTOMARIN HISTORY
The dealership dates back to the early seventies as a BMW bMotorcycle dealership in San Rafael. Over the years it progressed to being BMW & Ducati of Marin and in the Spring 2001, Cary Littell acquired the Marin County dealership, changing the name to Marin BMW Motorcycles, to exhibit a new focus on the BMW line.

Cary is an established motorcycling enthusiast, been riding since childhood, and has become a household name with those who own(ed) BMW's R1100RT model. With his enthusiasm towards his own RT, Cary started a web site community shortly after his own purchase in 1997. What started as "Cary's RT Source Pages" has evolved into the "BMWRT.COM" community, with many dedicated members that contribute to educating other BMW owners on the many facets of owning and riding motorcycles. Like the dealership, the web community that Cary started has evolved beyond the initial focus of a single model and now incorporates participants from all walks of life and areas of the world. In order to focus on growing the dealership, Cary passed the online community on to those that could dedicate themselves to helping it evolve.

In 2008, while other dealerships were slowing their growth and investment in the motorcycling community, Marin BMW Motorcycles grew. First with the addition of Vectrix electric scooters, which brought new riders into the dealership with the rising gas prices. Then Moto Guzzi came into the dealership, a brand with a long history and one that is making large strides to invite new riders into the community. And finally, we brought Aprilia Motorcycles and Scooters in to the dealership at the beginning of 2009.

With all these changes and additions to the dealership came a new space and a new name. After being located at 30 Castro for over 2 decades, we outgrew the location and it was time to design our own dealership. Also, it was time to develop our growing brand with a new name and logo - so we became MotoMarin.

MotoMarin is the home of Marin BMW Motorcycles, Marin Aprilia, Marin Moto Guzzi, and Marin Vectrix. We are your full service dealer in Northern California, stocking all the models, gear, and accessories that you desire.
